Tullverket is hiring IT Forensic Specialist
Tullverket's mission is to limit organized and large-scale crime and prevent the illegal importation of narcotics, doping agents, alcohol, tobacco, weapons, and other goods that threaten life, health, and the environment. Tullverket aims to reduce the number of criminal networks engaged in drug, alcohol, or tobacco smuggling or economic crime.
Tullverket consists of four operational departments: the Control Department, the Revenue Department, the Intelligence Department, and the Customs Crime Department. The Customs Crime Department is responsible for Tullverket's criminal investigation activities and technical collection. The operations work within the framework of preliminary investigations of crimes or measures that will lead to preliminary investigations of crimes aimed at prosecuting the masterminds behind criminal activities, reducing the profitability of crime, and significantly disrupting criminal activities.
Tullverket's preliminary investigation operations consist of a national IT and technology center responsible for covert coercive measures, surveillance technology, and IT forensics, Tullverket's laboratory, and four customs crime units responsible for their respective geographical areas: South, West, East, and North. The units are divided into operational areas: surveillance, serious crime investigations, and volume crime investigations.
About the position
As an IT Forensic Specialist within Tullverket's law enforcement process, you will be organizationally part of the IT and Technology Center led by a national group manager. You will be stationed at the Customs Crime Department in Stockholm (East), where you assist the criminal investigation activities with the examination of seized IT media such as computers, mobile phones, and other storage media. The work takes place both in the field and in the agency's laboratory environment. The purpose is to secure evidence from the units, analyze the information, and present the results, orally and in writing, to investigators and prosecutors. If necessary, you will assist prosecutors in court with expert knowledge and may also need to testify in court about your investigations.
You will work both individually and in groups, and the working hours are mainly during the day, but irregular working hours may occur.
We are looking for someone who has:
- IT forensic education, or equivalent competence through work experience/independent courses, or other education in data and communication technology that Tullverket deems relevant for the position.
- Good knowledge of Swedish and English, both spoken and written
- Swedish driver's license, class B for passenger cars
- Swedish citizenship
It is advantageous if you have:
- Education in programming, decryption, databases, and networks.
- Experience in IT forensic work within law enforcement.
- Experience in repair and technical troubleshooting of IT equipment.
- Good knowledge of the most common operating systems such as Windows, Mac OSX, Linux, IOS, and Android.
